What is hypertension?
Hypertension is a common condition in which blood flows through blood vessels and arteries with greater than normal pressure. While normal blood pressure is defined as systolic blood pressure less than 120 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure less than 80 mm Hg, hypertension is characterized by systolic blood pressure greater than 130 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure greater than 80 mmHg.
